Derek Valance is a proud Long Islander from Glen Cove, NY. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and became a Navy SEAL, serving around the world with SEAL Team 10. When he left the Navy, he joined the Glen Cove Police Department and even became a U.S. Marshal. Now, Derek is studying to be a mental health counselor so he can help others. He loves living in his hometown, staying close to his mom, Jean Anne, and remembering his dad, Daniel. Derek is always grateful for his amazing family and all the adventures life has brought him!
